Estoppel Information
Please complete Estoppel Form and email to estoppel@bbrd.org at least a week before, but no more than 30 days before your anticipated closing date. Completed Estoppel requests will be returned within 24 business hours of receipt. Currently, there is no charge for estoppel preparation.
Upon closing, a one-time Social Membership Fee of $1,498.00 ($1,400.00 + Sales Tax) is due from the Buyer in addition to any balance that may be owed by the Seller. The Social Membership Fee covers the first two homeowners on the deed. There is a fee of $749.00 ($700.00 + Sales Tax) for each additional homeowner listed on the deed per the Barefoot Bay Recreation District Policy Manual (Section 3.3 Fee Schedule).
The one-time Social Membership Fee may be refundable if you had a prior residence in Barefoot Bay:
You are entitled to a refund of the one-time Social Membership Fee if your prior residence was, and your new residence is, your primary residence in Barefoot Bay and you purchased your new residence within 18 months of the sale of your old residence and you complete and submit the refund application (including all required documentation showing proof of payment on both purchases and meeting all date requirements) within 18 months of the purchase of your new residence.
**The Barefoot Bay Recreation District is not a Homeowner Association, but a Special Taxing District, which is a form of local government.
