Ways That You Can Help
to Keep the Golf Course
in Top Shape

Observe the 90 Degree Rule
at all times
Always stay on the cart path as much as possible. When you are allowed off of the path, leave the path at a 90 degree angle to your ball. After playing your shot, return to the path at a 90 degree angle as well.
When there are no cart paths, ride in the deep rough until you get to your ball. Try to avoid riding down the line that defines the fairway/Rough.
Protect the shorelines and lake banks
Keep all pull carts and riding carts at least 10 feet away from the edge of all water hazards. Avoid driving or walking along the edge of the water hazards looking for golf balls. If you hit your ball into a water hazard, pay close attention to where it went in so that you can go directly to that spot to search.

If you think that your ball is in the deep grass on one of the steep slopes, but you cannot see it without trapsing down the bank, please leave it and play another ball under the water hazard penalty. We need to keep and protect that thick grass and natural vegitation as it is to prevent furthur erosion of these lake banks.

Rake the Bunkers
Always enter the bunker at a low point, as near where your ball is as possible. When you are finished, smooth out all footprints and holes that you made. Also smooth out marks left by inconsiderate golfers that may have played from the bunker before you.
Fix Ball
Marks

When you get to the green, always look for a ball mark. If you cannot find the mark that your ball made, fix another one. Always try to fix at least two marks per green. This will help keep the greens smooth and void of the little brown spots that are caused by the unrepaired marks.

To correctly fix a ball mark use a pronged ball mark repair tool or a tee. Insert it at the edges of the mark -- not the middle of the depression. Bring the edges together with a gentle twisting motion, but don't lift the center. Try not to tear the grass. Smooth the surface with a club or your foot. You're done when it's a surface you would want to putt over.

Fix Your
Divots

When you take a divot, we would prefer that you fill the hole with sand. This is because our fairways are bermudagrass and they will heal more quickly if they are filled with sand than if the actual divot is replaced.

The proper way to fix a divot is to first knock down the sides of the divot with a golf club, pushing the grass toward the middle of the hole. Then add just enough sand to make the hole level with the surrounding area. Many golfers pour in too much sand, creating a small mound. This will make the divot take a much longer time to heal.

If you are walking and do not have access to a sand bucket, then just follow the first step of the proceedure. Bang down the sides of the divot hole, then step down on it to make it as smooth as possible.
